TEAM LEADER – JANITORIAL SERVICES

Pay: $17.50 / hour starting

Locations & Schedules:

• West Asheville: Monday – Friday, 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM (Occasional weekends)
• Candler: Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM (Occasional weekends)

About the Role

This is an active, working leadership role —75% of your time is spent cleaning alongside your team, and 25% is dedicated to quality oversight, daily coordination, and hands-on coaching.

You’ll be the bridge between daytime and evening operations, ensuring clear communication, seamless shift transitions, and top-tier service for our client sites in West Asheville or Candler.

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-On Cleaning & Quality Control: Perform daily contract cleaning while conducting quality checks to ensure all areas meet our standards before shifts end.
• Team Leadership & Support: Coordinate Cleaning Technicians and Shift Leaders to ensure full site coverage with no missed tasks. Provide site-specific training and respectful feedback.
• Shift Liaison: Connect Day Porters and evening crews by communicating customer requests, completed tasks, and priority needs.
• Daily Operations & Communication: Use mobile applications (Swept) for schedules, photo logs, and messaging. Report attendance, supply needs, safety issues, and customer concerns to the Area Leader.
• Safety & Standards: Maintain janitorial closets, inventory, and equipment. Strictly follow all PPE, chemical-handling, and safety protocols.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Previous commercial cleaning or frontline leadership experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate).
• Leadership Style: Supportive, reliable, and calm under pressure when priorities or staffing shift.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using a smartphone for app-based scheduling, timekeeping, photos, and team messaging.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to instruct, coach, and liaise with clients professionally.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (trash, supplies, equipment) and operate backpack vacuums, mops, and cleaning carts.
• Flexibility to work the assigned location schedule, including occasional weekend shifts as needed.
