Position Type Administrator Position Summary Dallas College seeks a visionary, collaborative andforward-thinking academic leader to serve as Vice Provost of theSchool of Creative Arts, Entertainment and Design. Reporting to theProvost & Chief Academic Officer, the Vice Provost will providestrategic leadership for academic quality, student success, facultyand academic manager development, program effectiveness, resourcestewardship and partnerships with employers and communityorganizations. Dallas College has highlighted CAED-relatedexperiences such as Design Week, the Future of Fashion Showcase andcollaboration with Universidad Creativa in Costa Rica throughfashion, exchange-program development and Collaborative OnlineInternational Learning. The Vice Provost will provide leadership for the planning,implementation and evaluation of programs within the School;advocate for students, faculty, instructors, local business andindustry; advise the Provost on professional and technicaleducation; and actively engage community and employer partners tocreate new partnerships, responsive programs and revenueopportunities. The School of Creative Arts, Entertainment and Design (CAED)prepares students for careers across the creative economy throughprograms in the arts, design, entertainment, media, and relateddisciplines. Serving approximately 45,000 students and supported byover 250 full-time faculty, CAED combines academic excellence withindustry-relevant learning experiences that help students developthe creative, technical, and professional skills needed forsuccess. The school also includes English, Communications, and WorldLanguages, disciplines that are central to the college's academicmission and student success agenda. These programs deliver many ofthe gateway and general education courses that students encounterearly in their academic journey, helping build the communication,critical-thinking, cultural competency, and language skills thatunderpin achievement across virtually every field of study. The Vice Provost for Creative Arts, Entertainment and Designprovides strategic leadership for one of Dallas College's largestand most dynamic academic schools. This role helps ensure thatacademic programs remain responsive to student needs, industrytrends, workforce demands, and emerging opportunities within thecreative and entertainment sectors. The successful candidate will understand the distinct needs ofcreative and career-connected programs and will be able to build ashared vision across disciplines and locations. The leader willstrengthen academic pathways, support relevant curriculum andinstruction, expand experiential learning and employment pipelines,and advocate for students, faculty and staff across Dallas Collegeand in the broader community. Represent and advocate for the School, its programs and its people within Dallas College and throughout the community. CAED plays an important role in advancing Dallas College'smission by creating pathways that connect students to high-demandand culturally impactful careers while supporting the region'screative economy in one of the most vibrant creative arts centersin the world. Key Responsibilities Oversee faculty and academic managers, with directresponsibility for academic excellence initiatives, includingcurriculum strategy, student learning outcomes and assessment, tutoring and supplemental academic support, instruction, andfaculty professional development. Develop and maintain student pathways and degree maps within theSchool, ensuring students can access the courses and programsneeded to reach economic security and success. Oversee School programs and faculty, administrators and staffacross geographic locations, ensuring consistency of offerings anda seamless student experience. Collaborate with internal teams and external organizations tobuild capacity for experiential learning and employment pipelinesfor completers. Coordinate with Academic Services to provide students access totailored academic resources, including library and tutoringsupport. Ensure curriculum and program excellence through benchmarkingand assessment of School and community needs. Complete required Dallas College professional development hourseach academic year. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges. Progressive experience as an academic administrator involvingundergraduate and/or graduate programs, including responsibilityfor budgets, personnel recruitment and evaluation.
