About the Role As a Data Center Technician I, you will be working with state-of-the-art computing and networking equipment ensuring high uptime and providing basic repair services on a constant basis. The role requires a willingness to learn the existing landscape of network technologies and the ability to adapt to change while remaining current on developing technologies. An analytical mindset is essential for effective troubleshooting and diagnosing the miners to ensure optimal uptime and turnaround times. Key Responsibilities General facility duties as assigned Basic understanding of operations and infrastructure of the site Basic miner diagnostics and repair Introductory mechanical skills Miner tools usage Basic repairs Basic data analysis skills Basic flashing firmware skills Ability to complete projects at the discretion of supervisor or operations manager Other duties as assigned About You High school diploma or equivalent 1-3+ years’ experience in IT/computer hardware, systems/electrical engineering, network administration, and/or troubleshooting Bitcoin mining farm experience is a plus Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus A basic understanding of IP addressing and subnets and an understanding of small electronics or medium to low voltage electrical Must demonstrate the ability to be a problem solver, diligent, hard worker, team player, and demonstrate flexibility Must be able to stand on your feet for 7+ hours per day and lift or carry 30-50 lbs Tolerance to harsh conditions – the working environment is both indoor and outdoor and includes cold rooms with excess wind speed and hot rooms; you do not mind getting dirty Must pass a motor vehicle check Must have own reliable transportation to get to and from the designated work site location Military & Veterans are encouraged to apply About the Work Environment This role is onsite at one of our data center locations in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.
