EWIS Design Engineer

What is JetZero? 

Today’s aircraft contribute around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.

JetZero is developing a blended wing aircraft. It uses 50% less fuel and can accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.

This is why we’re hiring an EWIS Designer. You will work in the EWIS team to create the EWIS design for the labs, demonstrator and production aircraft.

JetZero is a place for people who are ambitious, talented, and humble. This role is based in Long Beach, CA reporting to the Head of Electrical Systems.

What You'll Do

• Create 3D representation of the harness using Siemens NX.
• Perform 3D digital model reviews to verify proper implementation of the rules.
• Create EWIS parts library in Siemens NX.
• Create 2D formboard drawings.
• Create harness installation drawings.
• Work closely with other aircraft systems to ensure proper routing and interfaces.
• Create 2D Wiring drawings for the labs and different aircraft systems.

Experience

• You have a Bachelor or equivalent degree in aviation, electrical, mechanical engineering or similar work experience.
• You have 5+ years professional experience in 3D EWIS Design in the aerospace industry.
• You have experience in 3D electrical routing, mechanical integration and drafting (preferably Siemens NX).
• You have experience in electrical 2D drawing tools such as Capital Graphics and NX schematics.
• You are familiar with all aspects of electrical wiring design, including mechanical, electrical and thermal aspects.
• You have good knowledge of aviation EWIS standards and specification such as AC43.13 and AS50881.
• You have very good knowledge of harness installation rules such as segregation, bend radius, maintainability, accessibility & manufacturing.
• You have good knowledge of PLM systems (preferably Teamcenter)

Salary Range: $105,000-$130,000
