Production Maintenance Electrician

Carrier's facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, who manufactures residential gas furnaces, is recruiting a 2nd Shift Production Maintenance Electrician to join the Manufacturing Engineering team.

The 2nd Shift Production Maintenance Electrician must know their way around a control cabinet, PLC systems, and a multimeter. Our Indianapolis furnace manufacturing plant is a unionized (voluntary) site, offering the kind of stability, competitive hourly pay, and benefits that skilled tradespeople deserve. Hours: Monday through Thursday, 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM (10-hour shifts).

Flexibility: Friday requirements often extend to 12-hour shifts (5:00 PM to 5:00 AM).

Incentives: 2nd shift includes a $0.30/hr. premium.

Overtime: Weekly overtime is expected. Overtime pay is time-and-a-half, and while we try to avoid Sundays, Sunday work is paid at double-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Repair: Diagnose faults, perform actual repairs, readjustments, or calibrations on manufacturing equipment.
• Technical Tooling: Utilize multimeters, oscilloscopes, hand, electrical, or soldering tools to troubleshoot and wire electrical circuits.
• Installation: Lay out construction wiring and maintain electrical circuits for machine installations, conveyors, elevators, cranes, and busbars.
• Component Replacement: Replace unit components including gas valves, control relays, protective relays, fan/blower motors, fuses, and EAC compressors.
• Maintenance & Safety: Perform preventive maintenance per schedules and preserve clean, safe work areas in accordance with site safety rules and EHS standards

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current journeyman's card OR successfully completed a Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program for Electrician OR pass the applicable Industrial Assessment Test (score of 70% or higher)
• 3+ years' experience working from wiring diagrams, schematic drawings and/or piping schematic drawings
• 1+ years' experience with electrical codes and requirements
• 1+ years' experience tracing electrical circuits, and testing voltage

Pay Range

The hourly rate for this position is between $24.00 - $48.00 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
