Workers' Compensation Paralegal

To learn more about our firm, visit us at Workers' Compensation Paralegal The ideal candidate will be responsible for communicating with clients, outside entities, and attorneys related to numerous cases across the state. This individual should be comfortable working as part of a team comprised of partners, associates, other paralegals and legal assistants to ensure streamlined and well organized handling of a high-volume caseload. Responsibilities Review file materials and medical records for case management purposes Issue subpoenas and summarize records received in response to same Prepare and electronically file pleadings and discovery Assist attorneys with preparation for depositions, mediations, and trials Track and bill time to appropriate matters Required Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Ability to maintain confidential information Qualifications Experience as a paralegal preferably in the workers' compensation practice area Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms Must be able to lift to 20 pounds at times Expected Hours of Work Full-time position with a 40-hour work week; Monday through Friday Swift Currie offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with profit sharing, generous paid time off, and holiday leave.
