Class B Diesel Mechanic Technician

Position Details Sunday – Thursday, 8:00 pm – 4:00 am. $30.00 per hour or more based on experience. Position Summary Perform preventative maintenance of medium to heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and converter dollys under minimal supervision. Ensure compliance with all state and federal trucking regulations. Communicate and interact professionally with co‑workers and maintain accurate documentation of work orders through the online Enterprise Asset Management system. Perform road‑call services as needed. Primary Responsibilities Complete and perform preventive maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections and repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units). Identify root causes of basic failures or conditions and perform required repairs. Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration before being deemed road‑worthy. Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventive maintenance. Install, replace, and repair onboard computers. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical parts for operating condition, replacing parts as necessary. Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, lubricating equipment, and using hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, precision instruments) and power tools (pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks, hoists). Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years of proven medium to heavy‑duty vehicle repair experience, including preventive maintenance, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnostics, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair and A/C refrigeration experience.
