Job Summary:

Ruggable is building an evergreen creative team that makes entertaining & compelling workacross paid advertising, organic social, email, and the website. We’re looking for a SeniorScriptwriter / Storyteller who can turn customer insights, product truths, and everyday life athome into ideas people want to watch, share, and act on. You’ll partner closely with our Growth Creative Lead, whose roots are in art direction anddesign. As creative partners, you’ll develop the ideas together, with you leading story, narrative,and scripts. You’ll help build work that can perform as a single ad or grow into a recurring series,creator format, or larger content platform. This role is for someone who loves both the idea and the making of it. You can write asix-second hook, build a longer story, and give an editor the note that makes the whole piececlick. Video storytelling is your craft; you’re also happy to bring that same clarity and voice toheadlines, emails, landing pages, and other copy if the work calls for it.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead story and script development for evergreen paid advertising and organic social,from the first concept through the final edit.
• Partner with the Growth Creative Lead and Creative Strategist to turn audience insights,product priorities, and performance learnings into creative territories and repeatablecontent series.
• Write scripts for creator-led, produced, short-form, and long-form video. Know when to write every word and when to give a creator room to be their authentic selves.
• Find the human story in Ruggable’s products; from the look and feel of a room to themoments of life that happen in it, and make the benefit clear without making every piece
  feel like a product demo.
• Develop story structures, interview questions, creator prompts, and production briefs thathelp strong ideas survive the realities of a shoot.
• Build multiple hooks, endings, and versions of an idea across products, audiences, andchannels. Use insights to help decide what to expand, refine, or retire.
• Stay close to production and post-production. Help shape interviews and shoots, spotunscripted moments, and give clear feedback on structure, pacing, voiceover, captions,and the opening seconds.
• When needed, write and refine supporting copy for paid ads, social posts, email, and siteexperiences, working with channel partners to keep the story consistent.
• Collaborate with creators, editors, producers, and agencies, giving direction that makesthe work stronger while preserving each creator’s voice.
• Present ideas and the thinking behind them to creative and cross-functional partners.

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required:

• 5-7+ years of experience in the industry
• Significant experience writing scripts and developing concepts for advertising, socialvideo, entertainment, or creator-led content.
• A portfolio of finished video work you originated or co-led, with examples of sharpshort-form hooks and stories that have room to develop.
• Experience taking an idea from insight through concept, script, production, edit, andperformance review.
• A feel for Meta, TikTok, PInterest, YouTube, and emerging formats, including how a storychanges across channels
• The ability to write dialogue, voiceover, prompts, attention grabbing headlines andon-screen language that sound natural and make a product benefit easy to understand.
• Comfort using creative performance results and audience feedback to improve the nextround of work.
• Experience building & scaling recurring formats or series, not just one-off videos.
• Confidence collaborating with art directors, strategists, creators, editors, producers, andagencies... and giving feedback that makes the work better.
• Strong copy instincts and the flexibility to write a headline or email when the idea needsto carry into another channel.
• An interest in interiors, design, culture, and the many ways people make a space theirown.

Preferred:

• You’re connected to the LA creator or filmmaking community, have experience withepisodic or unscripted content, or enjoy making things yourself.
• You notice the story happening around the rug: the first apartment when you got that new job,the dog (or cat) with no respect for boundaries but fills the room with joy, the dinner that ranlong, the room someone finally made their own. You can turn those observations into scriptswith personality and purpose, then find new ways to tell the story as you learn what connects with people.
• You’re a generous creative partner with a strong point of view. You care about the words, the images, and what happens when they come together.
• $130,000-$150,000 per year base salary based on experience
• An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
• Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
• This role requires a hybrid schedule in our North Torrance, CA location
