Senior Product Designer, Design Systems

Our business continues to expand in new ways to serve our global members. Our mature enterprise design system is catching up from being in maintenance mode for 3 years and we are balancing the local libraries / mini systems that were built during the period of inactivity. Local product teams have asked for system support in the creation and maintenance of their local libraries to effectively build a scalable local library. We are seeking an experienced System Designer for a 12-month contract to join our team and support the expansion of our internal design system by embedding on local domain teams on a rotational basis. This role’s focus will be to collaborate with domain product designers to build out scalable, accessible, and configurable components specific to that business area. This role will report to our head of design for the design system. Domain Focused Embed locally in 3 domains on a rotational basis to understand the domain context at a high level Audit the current state of the local library in each domain. Project: Compliance Training + Updates What You’ll Do Embed locally in 3 domains on a rotational basis to understand the domain context at a high level Audit the current state of the local library in each domain Identify top needs for each domain and create a prioritized roadmap of local library initiatives Identify opportunities to graduate components and/or add new variants to existing components in the core design system to reduce the size of each local library as much as possible Conduct light research with designers in the local domain to ensure best-in-class library builds Collaborate with engineering partners on the build out of design components in the local library Lead the design, feedback gathering, iteration, and launch of new features in the local library Create robust design specs for engineering hand off Document changes for designers and engineers using the local library Collaborate directly with the core system design team to ensure solutions are scalable, stable, and seamless to use Build for accessibility up front in the design process and advocate for inclusive experiences Maintain and improve local libraries in Figma based on user feedback throughout the year Drive thoughtful engagement with our design community by participating in our operational programs like Office Hours, slack support, etc Establish an intake process to support broader needs of the local domain teams not in the current rotation The must-haves 4+ years of explicit design system experience (usually on top of 10+ years of product design experience) Experience collaborating with domain teams from the core design system Experience owning and contributing to a design system in Figma Excellent communication skills to articulate decisions and rationale Optional nice to haves Pay Rate Range $100-150/hour on W-2 Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Contract Job function Design Staffing and Recruiting #J-18808-Ljbffr Cypress HCM
