We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, and mission-driven Director of Warehousing & Logistics to lead the systems that move millions of pounds of food throughout our region each year. This role is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of warehouse operations, inventory management, transportation and logistics, food safety, quality assurance, and operational support functions.

The Director of Warehousing & Logistics is a strategic and systems-oriented leader who can connect day-to-day operations with Food Lifeline’s broader organizational goals. This role will assess complex workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop sustainable systems that strengthen efficiency, safety, accountability, and service delivery.

The successful candidate will be comfortable leading through change, translating strategy into action, and building strong partnerships across departments. They will bring a thoughtful leadership approach, demonstrate curiosity, and consider how decisions affect people, processes, technology, and the organization as a whole.

In this role, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership for warehouse operations, transportation, inventory management, food safety, and quality assurance.
• Lead and develop a high-performing operations team while fostering a culture of inclusion, learning, and accountability.
• Partner across departments to align food acquisition, inventory strategy, distribution, and community impact goals.
• Utilize data, systems, and continuous improvement practices to strengthen operational performance and service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace safety, and regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
• Contribute to organizational leadership, planning, and cross-functional initiatives that advance Food Lifeline's mission.
• Evaluate interconnected systems, workflows, and operational practices to identify risks, gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for long-term improvement.
• Develop and implement scalable systems, processes, and performance measures that support operational excellence, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Translate organizational goals into clear departmental priorities, implementation plans, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
• Lead change-management efforts by engaging employees, communicating the purpose behind changes, and supporting teams through implementation.
• Use data, employee feedback, and operational insights to make informed decisions and evaluate the effectiveness of new approaches.
• Anticipate future operational needs and recommend strategies related to staffing, technology, equipment, facilities, and workflow design.
• Build strong cross-functional partnerships and consider the organization-wide impact of operational decisions.
• Create an environment where leaders and employees are encouraged to identify challenges, propose solutions, and improve systems.
• Balance immediate operational needs with long-term planning, sustainability, and organizational capacity.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000 annually. This range represents the current full salary range for the position.

Food Lifeline is committed to fair, transparent, and equitable compensation practices that support our mission to address hunger and its root causes. Movement through the salary range may occur over time and is guided by performance, role development, and organizational compensation practices.

Position Details

• Full-time position
• Regular on-site presence required to lead warehouse and transportation operations
• Candidates must be willing and able to live and work in the greater Seattle area
