 We are seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified General Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in Arizona. This assignment offers holiday call coverage at a Level III Trauma Center with a manageable patient volume and established support team.

Coverage Dates

• November 26–30, 2026
• December 22, 2026 – January 4, 2027

Clinical Responsibilities

• General Surgery call coverage
• Inpatient consultations and admissions
• Surgical management of acute general surgery cases
• Endoscopy procedures as needed
• Daily rounding responsibilities

Required Experience

Candidates should be comfortable performing:

• Laparoscopic procedures
• Appendectomies
• Cholecystectomies
• Hernia repairs
• Upper and lower endoscopy
• Chest tube placement
• Central line placement
• General trauma surgery management

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery
• Active Arizona license or IMLC eligibility
• ACLS certification
• ATLS certification

Assignment Details

• In-house call coverage
• Approximately 5 patient encounters per day
• About 2 admissions daily
• 30-minute response time requirement
