Host / Hostess – Upscale Restaurant & Hotel Dining

The Northport Hotel & Restaurant is seeking polished, professional, and hospitality-driven Hosts/Hostesses to join our front-of-house team. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, this position plays a vital role in delivering the exceptional dining experience for which our restaurant is known.

We are seeking individuals who possess a genuine passion for hospitality, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and understand the importance of creating memorable guest experiences through warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
• Manage reservations, guest seating, and waitlists utilizing OpenTable and other reservation systems.
• Escort guests to their tables while ensuring a seamless and personalized arrival experience.
• Provide accurate wait times and effectively communicate reservation policies.
• Answer telephone inquiries professionally and assist guests with reservations, dining information, and special requests.
• Coordinate closely with managers, servers, and support staff to maintain efficient table flow and maximize guest satisfaction.
• Anticipate guest needs and assist in resolving concerns with professionalism and discretion.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the host stand, entrance, and reception areas.
• Uphold the restaurant's standards of service, appearance, and guest relations at all times.
• Support additional front-of-house operations as needed to ensure an exceptional dining experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older .
• Previous experience in an upscale or fine dining restaurant environment is required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills.
• Professional, polished, and well-groomed appearance.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient in a high-volume environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to hospitality excellence.
• Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.
• Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation platforms is preferred.
