Quality Engineer

Position Summary Quality Engineer – Seneca Falls, NY. 1st shift, Monday-Friday. The Quality Engineer is responsible for the administration of the Quality Program within the assigned operation. This includes identifying improvement opportunities, investigating, analyzing, and implementing solutions to quality issues. Responsibilities Prevent nonconformance, defect costs, and delays by identifying root causes and directing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences. Participate in the development and implementation of quality plans. Provide technical support to improve supplier competence and performance. Apply quality tools to improve operations and support functional quality competence. Lead and support all aspects of the Quality Assurance program in collaboration with other Quality Engineers and the Quality organization. Analyze quality costs, develop and generate reports, and drive improvement actions. Assist in creating salvage/scrap tickets, DARs, CAPAs, etc., and collect and analyze data. Analyze scrap and rework; report and recommend improvements. Review and investigate customer complaints, compile data, and document findings. Communicate supplier and internal quality problems and validate corrective actions. Interface with suppliers at the plant and attend supplier site visits to address issues as they arise. Requirements Education: 4‑year Engineering/Technical degree with minimum of 3 years machining or quality‑related experience. High degree of interpersonal skills for communication with operators, operation leaders, and supplier management. Leadership skills. Knowledge of machine shop, inspection, and testing processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with computer applications (AS400, Access, Excel, Word, Shop Floor, Intranet). Familiarity with ISO 9001 requirements. Strong customer service orientation. Familiar with Lean manufacturing concepts. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Team player. Knowledge of change management principles. Organizational agility skills. Decision‑making skills. Knowledge of QA processes (FMEA, Root Cause Corrective Action, APQP, PPAP, etc.). Ability to read and understand design drawings with GD&T. Ability to use standard measuring devices. Knowledge of foundry terminology and processes helpful. Job shop experience a plus.
