Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Radiation Oncology position at an outpatient oncology clinic in the Denver, CO area, requiring OCN certification and at least one year of Radiation Oncology RN experience.

Details

• Outpatient Radiation Oncology clinic setting located on the first floor of the main building
• Unit is staffed with 2 RNs, a Director who is also an RN, 1 Gamma Knife RN, 2 front office team members, 2 physicists, and 3 MDs
• 4 exam rooms available on the unit
• Patient ratio of 1–2 patients per RN
• Day shift only (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM); clinic is closed at night
• EMR systems used are Meditech and Mosaic
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required for all RNs working in Oncology
• Minimum 1 year of recent Radiation Oncology RN experience required
• At least 2 years of overall clinical experience required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no exceptions; Canadian SSNs are not accepted
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include patient care, symptom management, and education of patients undergoing radiation therapy, including management of side effects such as skin changes and fatigue
• Prior Meditech EMR experience is preferred
• Prior Radiation Oncology experience is preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates will be considered
• A compassionate demeanor and ability to work proactively in a fast-paced oncology environment are ideal personality traits for this role
• The unit is currently in an exciting period of growth, with a construction expansion and new equipment planned
