Position Overview

A Kitchen & Bath Designer creates functional, aesthetically pleasing, and customized kitchen and bathroom spaces for residential or commercial clients. This role blends creativity, technical knowledge, and project management to deliver designs that meet client needs, building codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Consultation — Meet with clients to understand lifestyle needs, design preferences, budget, and project goals.
• Space Planning — Develop detailed floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using 2020 Design.
• Product & Material Selection — Recommend cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, appliances, lighting, flooring, and finishes that align with the design vision and budget.
• Design Presentation — Prepare and present design concepts, mood boards, and material samples to clients.
• Project Coordination — Collaborate with contractors, installers, architects, and vendors to ensure accurate execution of the design.
• Estimating & Budgeting — Create detailed quotes, manage project budgets, and track changes throughout the project.
• Technical Compliance — Ensure designs meet building codes, safety standards, and accessibility guidelines.
• Sales & Customer Service — Guide clients through the purchasing process, maintain relationships, and provide ongoing support.
• Documentation — Produce accurate specifications, purchase orders, and installation instructions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of kitchen and bath design principles , space planning, and ergonomics.
• Proficiency in design software 2020 Design.
• Understanding of construction methods , plumbing, electrical layouts, and cabinetry systems.
• Excellent communication , sales , and client relationship skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of current design trends , materials, and product lines.
• Certification such as NKBA CKBD (Certified Kitchen & Bath Designer) is a plus.

Preferred Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in kitchen & bath design or interior design.
• Experience working in a showroom, design studio, or remodeling company.
• Familiarity with vendor catalogs, ordering processes, and installation workflows.

Work Environment

• Showroom or design studio setting
• Occasional site visits for measurements, inspections, and project coordination
• Collaboration with contractors, installers, and suppliers

Physical Requirements

• Ability to take field measurements
• Occasional lifting of material samples (up to 25 lbs)
