Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed | Every Other Weekend Required | No Call Requirements | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed adult and geriatric Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Manage and treat common diagnoses including COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, sepsis, infection, and end-of-life/hospice care
• Operate unit equipment including Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps
• Document and manage patient care using the Cerner electronic health record system
• Float as needed to surgical, neuro, and intermediate units, accepting Medical Surgical level patients
• Function as a strong patient advocate and collaborative team member on a high-volume, fast-paced floor

Required Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Proficiency with Cerner EHR
• Demonstrated IV competency
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations in a busy acute care setting
