Responsibilities

UPH - Vinton Family Medicine, is currently seeking a caring and detail-oriented healthcare professional to join our team as a Clinic Nurse . We welcome applicants who are Registered Nurses (RNs) , Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) , or Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) . The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care, support providers with clinical tasks and procedures, and help ensure efficient daily clinic operations. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a patient-focused, team-oriented setting with UnityPoint Clinics!

• Greet and room patients; obtain vital signs, medical histories, and reason for visit
• Administer medications and vaccinations as ordered by the provider
• Assist with in-office procedures and exams
• Accurately document all patient interactions and treatments in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Provide patient education on medications, care plans, and health promotion
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use
• Support the provider team in delivering coordinated, high-quality care
• Perform basic clerical tasks such as scheduling, call-backs, and managing referrals

Qualifications

• Valid and current licensure/certification in the state of Iowa as one of the following:
  
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Iowa Board of Nursing
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Iowa Board of Nursing
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - accredited program with certification (AAMA, NCCT, or equivalent)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, etc.) and basic computer skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team
