Essential Job Functions:  Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit, reconciling medication lists. Prepares patients for examinations Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records. Begins patient's notes prior to the office visit. Records the office visits via electronic templates on behalf or physician. Responsible for ensuring thoroughness of medical documentation. Helps with testing, injections, blood draws, syrum mixing, as requested. Triages phone messages from patients. Reviews messages with physicians and responds as directed in a prompt and courteous manner. Answers questions as appropriate. Answers phones, schedule appointments, posts copays and other front office duties as needed. Works with insurance companies, pharmacies as needed for prior authorizations. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations. Keeps exam rooms clean and patient ready. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, noting when supplies are needed. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance. Serves and protects the medical practice by adhering to clinic and professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements. Maintains CPR certification. Must be able to travel to main and satellite clinics (Main-South Ogden, Satellites-Farr West and Brigham) Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:  Must have 6-12 months experience or certification as Medical Assistant and CPR certification (or completed within 4 months of hiring). Working knowledge of medical terminology. Must be proficient on computers. Knowledge of ICD10 preferred. A working knowledge of electronic medical records preferred. Ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, push and/or carry up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally is required. Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time. Demonstrate excellent computer, telephone and communication skills. Outstanding customer service, organization and attention to detail. Must be a self-starter, a team player, dependable, friendly and professional and be able to multi-task and work efficiently while remaining calm and productive. Actively participates in our ACO and quality initiatives.

 

Hours:  Tuesday Brigham clinic 10-5 Wednesday Farr West clinic 9-4:30 Thursday South Ogden clinic 8-5 Friday Brigham clinic 8-12
