Senior Accountant

Unity Search has partnered with a technology company who is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team on a contract basis . This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, hitting the ground running, and making an immediate impact. The ideal candidate is a strong analytical accountant with a solid understanding of GAAP and experience supporting the month-end close process. This team is looking for someone who can quickly step in, work independently, and help keep the accounting function running smoothly. Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other month-end close entries Perform month-end close activities and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting packages Analyze financial results and explain fluctuations between reporting periods Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit requests Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls Partner with operations and other cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of accounting experience in a Senior Accountant role Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar If you're an experienced Senior Accountant who enjoys stepping into new environments, adding value quickly, and supporting a busy accounting team, we'd love to hear from you.
