Job Title: Environmental Scientist II Location: NASA Goddard Position Type: Full time Performs environmental compliance tasks independently within one or more media areas, with limited supervision. Responsibilities Independently conduct and document required inspections and coordinate weekly/monthly waste pickups. Prepare draft Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) and permit-tracking entries; maintain compliance records. Coordinate hazardous waste characterization, accumulation, and shipment; support manifest and e-manifest processing. Maintain and update data in government environmental systems and GIS/field-mapping tools. Assist with permit renewals, notifications, and regulatory recordkeeping. Qualifications Years of Experience: 2-5 years of relevant environmental compliance experience Education Level: Bachelor's degree in a relevant environmental discipline. Clearance Requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain a NASA PIV badge. Certification Requirements: 40-hour HAZWOPER; DOT/IATA/RCRA hazardous waste training.
