Cost Controller Accountant

General Summary The Cost Controller Accountant works for the Charleston, WV office and reports to the Regional Manager. Primary responsibilities include performing general accounting duties, overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other functions related to project management. The position ensures all project‑related materials are fully documented and assists in assuring that contractual requirements are met. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques, as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection. Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP). Highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character; promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization. Negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers to reduce operating cost and leverage buying power. Strong mathematical and analytical abilities. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with all staff levels. Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Required Education, Training, and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent; combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work is a plus. Minimum five (5) years in an accounting operation or equivalent. Previous managerial experience a plus.
