Senior Cost Estimator

We have an opening for Senior Construction Cost Estimator. General Responsibilities Perform development of conceptual through detailed cost estimates, including change orders. Review cost estimates for quality and completeness before submission to projects Support in development and maintenance of cost estimating database. Summary scope cost data for cost estimates (summary cost for major scope items) Ensure that all project data is properly stored and retrievable. Train junior staff in cost estimating. Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. Requirements SKILLS 8 years or more of relevant experience in engineering or construction. Must be able to develop cost estimates for all project phases, including design and construction cost estimates at various stages of design and change order estimates. Must be proficient in quantity takeoff and pricing, developing labor/equipment new requirements, and estimating productivity rates. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred experience in working in Transit. EDUCATION Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field TOOLS and TECHNOLOGY Proficiency with multiple discipline-specific software applications such as HeavyBid (HCSS), On-Screen Takeoff (OST), RSMeans and Microsoft Office Applications. Adept with PC operating systems, with competency in several basic software applications.
