Employee has team pride in the purpose of our work – saving lives.Job Specific Duties and Performance StandardsWork in an independent and interdependent relationship with co-workers of the medical staff which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral(s).Ability to use CPT and ICD-9 coding effectively and appropriately.Signs off on all dictation/test ordered as well as ensuring collaborating physician signs as well.Assist physician as needed.Assist with any nursing duties as needed.Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition.Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.Make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients. *Administer or order diagnostic test.Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, staple removal, suturing and/or removal, wound care, and infection management.Educate patients and/or families about preventive care, family planning, medical issues, and use of medical treatment and or medicationsMaintain legible, accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, test performed, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations.Facilitate evaluation of record by physician(s) and receive and implement constructive directives.Stay abreast of clinical issues, improvement procedures, medications, warnings, etc. and apply them accordingly.Must keep up with CME's required for licensure.Analyze new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, and hands-on training.
