Direct Support Professional - Part Time

Job Purpose:The Day DSP CDS role at Appalachian Parent Association Inc Appalachian Crossroads is designed to provide direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life through structured activities and personalized assistance. This position is crucial in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, particularly during evening and weekend activities.Key Responsibilities:Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, focusing on their personal needs and promoting their independence.Facilitate and supervise evening and weekend activities designed to enhance social interaction and personal development for participants.Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each participant's needs and goals.Ensure a safe and nurturing environment by adhering to all organizational policies and procedures.Maintain accurate documentation of participants' progress and any incidents, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.Communicate effectively with participants, families, and other stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns.Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to direct support practices.Required Education:High School Diploma or GEDRequired Experience:Experience working in a direct support professional (DSP) role or similar capacity.Experience in planning and facilitating evening and weekend activities for individuals with developmental disabilities.Required Skills and Abilities:Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.Excellent organizational skills to manage and coordinate activities.Compassionate and patient demeanor with a commitment to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by the role.Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.Job Type: Part-timePay: $17.07 per hourWork Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr
