Staff Accountant | Private Equity / Venture Capital | Austin, TX Up to $85K Base + 20–25% Annual Bonus | Hybrid Schedule Are you currently in Big 4 audit or assurance and starting to think about what your first move into industry could look like? I'm partnering with a growing middle-market private equity and venture capital firm in Austin on a newly created Staff Accountant position . This is a unique opportunity to step out of public accounting and into a highly collaborative, fun, entrepreneurial environment where you'll work directly with the Corporate Controller and gain hands‑on exposure to the operational side of accounting. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll work closely with the Corporate Controller across the firm’s core accounting activities, including: Month‑end and year‑end close General ledger and operational accounting Account reconciliations and supporting schedules Journal entries and accruals Financial statement preparation and reporting Research and resolution of accounting discrepancies Audit and tax support Process improvement and strengthening accounting procedures and controls Special projects as the finance and accounting function continues to evolve Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 1–3 years of accounting experience Big 4 audit or assurance experience strongly preferred CPA, CPA eligible, or actively working toward certification Strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Excellent attention to detail Desire to learn and take on increasing responsibility A collaborative mindset and comfort working in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment Why Consider It?
