EDUCATIONAL DIAGNOSTICIAN Qualifications:

Job Goal:
Educational Diagnosticians are assessors certified in special education to work with students pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade by administering and interpreting standardized testing instruments that measure cognitive and/or academic abilities.
Performance Responsibilities:
Educational Diagnosticians will be employed for nine (9) month positions. The salary and work year will be established annually by the Board of Education. Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board of Education policy by the immediate supervisor, utilizing the Independence School District Educational Diagnostician Evaluation.

EDUCATIONAL DIAGNOSTICIAN Qualifications:
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in the appropriate area of Special Education
- Master's degree in education or school counseling from an approved program from Department of Elementary and Secondary Education preferred
- School Psychological Examiner Certification preferred
- Must have valid driver's license and daily access to a vehicle required for travel throughout the school district

Job Goal:
Educational Diagnosticians are assessors certified in special education to work with students pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade by administering and interpreting standardized testing instruments that measure cognitive and/or academic abilities.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Prepare psychoeducational evaluation reports based on test results and interpretation
- Administer standardized testing instruments that measure cognitive and/ or academic abilities, or describe behavior, personality characteristics, attitude or aptitude, in order to determine eligibility for special education services
- Compare test results with the standards of the evaluation instruments, analyze potential test biases, and develop appropriate recommendations to help direct educational interventions and services in a most inclusive and least restrictive environment
- Communicate assessment findings effectively, both orally and in writing
- Use effective assessment techniques appropriate for evaluating children's behavior and academic abilities
- Safeguard confidentiality of student records
- Adhere to all District policies and procedures and laws outlined by Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (2004) and the Missouri State Plan for Special Education
- Perform other professional duties as needed to support the functions of the Special Services department
