After School Program Assistant

Tarrytown Nursery School

Job Description

The After School Program Assistant supports early childhood group activities by ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for students. The assistant helps with supervision, activity support, and daily routines while working closely with the program team to promote positive behavior and a fun learning atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Supervise students during after school program activities
Assist with organizing and leading group activities
Monitor safety and intervene to prevent accidents or incidents
Prepare and distribute snacks to students
Track attendance and report any absences or issues
Support positive behavior and provide guidance to children
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth program operations
Occasionally interact with parents or guardians as needed

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of experience in child care
Skills in child supervision and behavior support
Strong communication abilities
Effective teamwork skills
