Our well-respected manufacturing client needs a Buyer for their team! This full-time, interim role is perfect for a relationship builder with at least four years of experience.
Responsibilities of the Buyer
- Acquire inbound materials and services in a timely manner
- Manage formalized risk mitigation programs to reduce vulnerability of supply chain interruptions
- Qualify suppliers and maintain effective supplier relationships focused on availability, quality, and cost
- Use Excel, MRP, and ERP systems to track purchasing activities
- Issue POs
- Drive internal procedure improvements and deliver training to those improvements
- Assist with inventory control and perform additional tasks as required
Qualifications of the Buyer
- 4+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing
- Proven experience with ERP and MRP systems and MS Excel
- Excellent supplier relationship development
- Strong negotiation and organizational skills
