Position Summary

Berkeley Eye Center's Cleveland location is accepting resumes for a Bilingual Optometric/Ophthalmic Assistant to join our growing team.

Our Cleveland office provides both Optometric and Ophthalmic services, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced eye care professional to work alongside a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of vision care experience , strong communication skills, a friendly and professional demeanor, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Support:

• Record patient medical, ocular, and medication histories accurately.
• Instill eyedrops as directed by providers.
• Clean and sanitize examination rooms and equipment between patients.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Patient Pre-Testing:

Perform preliminary diagnostic testing, including:

• Visual Acuity Testing
• Autorefraction
• Goldmann Applanation Tonometry (GAT)
• Confrontation Visual Field (CVF) Testing
• Lensometry

Patient Experience & Administrative Support:

• Educate patients regarding testing and procedures.
• Assist with patient flow throughout the office.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors.
• Cross-train to assist with:
• • Appointment scheduling
  • Insurance verification
  • Patient check-in and check-out
  • General front office support as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of vision care, optometric, or ophthalmic experience.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic testing equipment and procedures.
• Excellent communication and patient service skills.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience in both optometric and ophthalmic settings.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Thursday: 8AM - 5PM, Friday: 8AM - 2PM
