The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are expanding our Data Center Innovations division and are seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our team in Seattle, WA. In this role, you will assume higher complexity sales projects, client relationships, and larger contracts. Key responsibilities include:

Business Development

• Effectively manages a percentage of the annual sales based on department needs.
• Produces accurate estimates, assembles quality proposals and demonstrates good written communication skills utilizing McKinstry guidelines and proposal formats.
• Builds and owns market strategies. Includes SWOT analysis, competitive analysis and vertical market and horizontal offering strategies.
• Coordinates with Business Unit Manager to ensure successful execution of projects.

Team Management

• Assists with managerial functions. Includes hiring, coaching and separations.
• Supports the development of Account Executive to ensure the successful achievement of business goals.
• Gives feedback and recommendations to the Director of Business Development to conduct performance evaluations.

Client Relations

• Builds and maintains relationships with industry leaders, associations and organizations in regional or vertical markets.
• Provides support to the customer with regards to projects financial, contractual and technical issues.
• Works with a large client base including the owner and business leaders for the company.
• Takes ownership of accounts as assigned by Business Development Director.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

• Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of an Account Executive.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management or equivalent business experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals and estimates required.
• Knowledge of building infrastructure mechanical and electrical systems required.
• Seven (7) years of experience with a mechanical or electrical construction contractor required.
• Five (5) years of experience leading and closing sales required.
• Knowledge of conceptual estimating required
