Registered Nurse (RN) – Newborn Observation Unit As a registered nurse on our Newborn Observation Unit, you provide compassionate care, assist with breastfeeding, and empower new mothers, ensuring the well‑being of both mother and baby during this precious time. Responsibilities Ensure a safe environment for patients and others by implementing infection control practices and maintaining regulatory compliance. Perform technical procedures safely and efficiently in accordance with department protocols and legal requirements. Participate in performance improvement initiatives, quality improvement activities, and review/audit processes. Utilize the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation). Coordinate and delegate patient care activities, communicating clearly with the interdisciplinary team. Collaborate to identify and implement actions that enhance patient care and education. Demonstrate a positive attitude and provide exemplary customer service, addressing patient concerns via the service recovery process. Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain current nursing knowledge and skills. Support organizational learning by sharing knowledge and skills, and assist in alternative areas when needed. Qualifications Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana, as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
