Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

We are seeking dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) to join our respiratory care team in a Level II Trauma Center. The ideal candidates will provide care for patients in Pediatric Critical Care, Neonatal Critical Care, and general inpatient respiratory care settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care for a diverse patient population, including NICU patients.
• Utilize advanced respiratory equipment and charting systems.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in departmental activities and training programs.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required (CRT may be considered based on experience).
• South Dakota Respiratory Care Practitioner License (must be obtained prior to submission).
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required for those working in NICU.
• AA Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.

Skills Required

• Experience in critical care and general respiratory care.
• Proficiency in the use of ventilators and other respiratory therapy equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Support and Resources

Our respiratory care department offers 24/7 support from Charge RTs and Clinical Specialists, along with supervisory staff to assist in patient care and professional development.

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo orientation at the facility to familiarize themselves with our practices and procedures.

Scheduling and Availability

• Weekend rotations are scheduled every other week.
• Holidays: Employees are expected to work on holidays that fall within contract dates.
• Time-off requests can be made but are subject to departmental needs and may require an extension of the contract.
