Job Summary

Provides comprehensive medical services for members of family, regardless of age or sex, on continuing basis by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Examines patients for symptoms or physical information.
• Elicits and records information about patient's medical history.
• Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.
• Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient.
• Administers or prescribes treatments and medications.
• Promotes health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease.
• Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases.
• Provides prenatal care to pregnant women, delivers babies, and provides postnatal care to mothers and infants.
• Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency.
• Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's well being
• Refers patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment.
• Performs minor surgery and procedure as qualified.
• Makes house and emergency calls to attend to patients unable to visit office or clinic.
• Conducts physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation in the medical area. Also directly supervises 2-3 nurse employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. May be responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Physician will have Medical Doctoral degree with experience and/or training in primary care. Certificates from Colleges, Hospital, Clinic, and Medical School attended for experience and credentialing. Be Board Certified or Board Eligible. Physician may have a higher degrees/certificates Licensed to practice medicine.
