Location: Selinsgrove, PA 17870

Pay Rate: $25.50 per hour

Start Date: 2 weeks from offer

Shift: 3rd Shift – 10:15 PM to 6:15 AM

Schedule: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week

Work Location: Selinsgrove, PA

Position Overview:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct, non-professional nursing care to patients and residents in hospital, infirmary, long-term care, and domiciliary care settings. This position supports daily care, rehabilitation, and overall well-being while helping maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for both ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

• Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, mobility, feeding, and comfort measures.
• Provide direct daily care and support according to established care plans.
• Assist with rehabilitation and maintenance activities as directed by licensed nursing staff.

Rehabilitation Support:

• Encourage and assist patients and residents in prescribed rehabilitative and recreational activities.
• Promote participation in both individual and group activities designed to enhance quality of life and independence.

Monitoring:

• Observe patient conditions and behaviors.
• Report changes in physical, emotional, or mental status to licensed nursing staff promptly.
• Monitor patient needs and communicate concerns appropriately.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Assist with recordkeeping related to patient care activities.

Environment Maintenance:

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized patient and resident living areas.
• Assist in ensuring a comfortable and secure environment for all residents.

Collaboration:

• Work under the direction and supervision of registered nurses, physicians, and other licensed healthcare professionals.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support quality patient care.

Compliance:

• Follow all established healthcare regulations, facility policies, infection control standards, and patient care procedures.
• Participate in required training, in-service education, and competency development programs.

Work Environment:

Setting:

• Hospital
• Infirmary
• Long-Term Care Unit
• Domiciliary Care Unit

Supervision:

• Work is performed under the close supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.
• Performance is reviewed through observation, inspections, and reporting processes.

Independence:

• Routine duties are expected to be performed independently as experience and proficiency increase.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

• Six (6) months of experience as an Aide Trainee; OR
• One (1) year of paid experience providing care to geriatric or physically ill patients/residents.

Certification:

• Must be registered and certified as a Nurse Aide for Long-Term Care assignments.
• Must meet all applicable state competency requirements for nurse aide work.

Technical Skills:

• Basic computer proficiency required.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications and standard computer systems.

Additional Information:

Training:

• Ongoing on-the-job training and in-service education provided to maintain and enhance nursing care skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to assist with lifting, repositioning, transferring, moving, and supporting patients and residents as needed.

Patient Interaction:

• Daily direct contact with patients and residents.
• Requires a compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
