Join Our Team as an Inpatient Psychiatrist

Become a part of a mission-focused, multidisciplinary team at our organization as an Inpatient Psychiatrist within our 40-bed adult psychiatric unit located in Sanford, Maine. We are looking for both full-time and per diem psychiatrists to provide compassionate, team-oriented care for individuals facing complex psychiatric and psychosocial challenges.

In this role, you will collaborate with a dedicated group of nurse practitioners, social workers, behavioral health specialists, and supportive programming staff in a collegial atmosphere that emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and continuity of care. This position offers a unique chance to influence treatment strategies, deliver direct therapeutic and pharmacological interventions, and significantly enhance the lives of patients—all while maintaining a healthy work-life balance in the picturesque Southern Maine region.

• Lead compassionate care for patients with complex psychiatric conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provide direct therapeutic and pharmacologic interventions.
• Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to a supportive work environment.

• Graduation from an Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School.
• Completion of an internship and psychiatric residency, along with any fellowship training.
• Current or eligible licensure as a physician with the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.
• Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or eligibility for examination, as evidenced by documentation.
• Board Certified or board eligible in general psychiatry.
• Possession of a current DEA Registration Certificate.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience, including residency and/or fellowship training.
• Fulfillment of additional credentialing criteria as outlined in Medical Staff By-laws.
