Position Summary - Teacher's Aide for Infant - Preschool Classrooms

**This is for an expected start date in September.

The Goddard School® of Greenpoint, located at 85 Commercial Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222 is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher's Aide to join our early childhood education team. Our School is a newly built, state-of-the-art, one-story, 10,000-square-foot learning environment designed with children and educators in mind. Filled with natural light and thoughtfully created spaces, our School offers an inspiring setting where teachers can do their best work and children can learn, explore, and thrive.

Using our proprietary Wonder of Learning® curriculum, you will assist the Lead and Assistant Teachers in meaningful daily activities, inspire young minds, and collaborate with a supportive team committed to high-quality early childhood education.

Compensation : $17-$20 per hour, based on education and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead and Assistant Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans  
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions  
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment   
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging  
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities  
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment  
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred  
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting 
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children  
• Works productively without supervision  
• Basic understanding of child development  
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children  
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
