Job: Senior Cost Accountant

Location: Alameda, CA

Onsite: 5x onsite per week

Hourly Pay: $45-$50 / hour, depending on experience

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Our East Bay based client is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to assist with a project for the next 3-4 months. This is a contract role with the possibility to extend, depending on the needs of the team. This role will require the candidate to work onsite in Alameda, CA 5 times per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with month/quarter/year-end accounting close processes.
• Handle reconciliations, journal entry preparation, flux analysis, and financial statement support.
• Participate in audit preparation and support activities.
• Support cost specific accounting responsibilities including:
  • Inventory variance analysis, E&O reserves, scrap analysis, and COGS reporting.
  • Cross-functional work with the supply chain team & others to meet tight deadlines.
  • Physical inventory counts, as needed.

Requirements:

• Degree with accounting or finance specialization or 5+ years of direct cost accounting experience required.
• Experience with cost accounting in a high-volume manufacturing environment. 
• Experience working in a larger ERP system (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and strong Excel.
• Must be able to work independently.
