Controls Engineer

Job Description

We have an opening for a Controls Engineer / PLC Programmer in the North Minneapolis, MN area. This role will design and write code in PLC or HMI software, perform modifications, testing, and commissioning.


Required:

• Mininum 3-5 years' experience
• Autocad
• Studio 5000 or RS 500 or Any other Allen Bradley systems
• HMI software - Factory Talk View

Preferred:

• Associated degree in the field of employment is desired

Job Order Details:


Candidate will design and program for automation. This will be a project concept to completion type of position, involving design and coding. Design will be done in Autocad - UL 508 certified design will be performed. Design will be electrical / pneumatic. The role will also perform testing on software modifications. Duties are to include but not limited to: specifying components and document control systems, drawing diagrams, following the projects through assembly, programming and debugging. Candidate will need to implement risk assessment as well with safety devices. In addition, Candidate will travel to customer sites for commissioning of equipment, ensure that specifications are met, and assist in training customers' personnel as needed (travel is estimated to be about 20-30%). Overtime will be paid hourly.
