Join our team as a Welder specializing in building food processing equipment. This role involves the construction, assembly, and installation of machinery used in the food industry. We seek an individual with expertise in welding, blueprint reading, machine building, quality control, and troubleshooting to ensure the efficient and safe creation of food processing equipment. Attention to detail, precision in work, and adherence to safety standards are crucial for success.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently utilize TIG/MIG welding techniques along with others such as Arc Welding to assemble components of food processing equipment.

• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to guide the assembly and construction of food processing equipment with precision.

• Expertly assemble various parts of food processing machines, ensuring accuracy and alignment for optimal functionality.

• Construct, install, and test mechanical and electrical components of food processing machinery to ensure proper operation.

• Conduct quality checks and inspections to guarantee that the equipment meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Identify and resolve any issues or defects in the equipment during the assembly process to ensure efficiency and performance.

• Safely handle and transport raw materials and finished components using appropriate tools and equipment.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years TIG/MIG welding experience.

• Proficiency in welding techniques and equipment.

• Experience in the manufacturing vocation.

• Good knowledge of industrial machinery and operations.

• Understanding of CNC operations.

• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and use measuring tools like calipers or gauges.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.

• Knowledge of mechanical systems.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical assembly and the use of hand and power tools.

• Experience working with sheet metal.

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate-controlled, older facility. Engage in welding and fabricating tasks primarily using sheet metal, ranging from 16-22 gauge. Work hours are structured with regular shifts from 6am-2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with additional overtime opportunities including 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday, and shorter shifts on Friday and Saturday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LEXINGTON, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
