Nuclear Medicine Technologist PETCT (Per Diem)

Astrana Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate PET/CT Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis at Pacific Medical Imaging and Oncology Center (PMIOC) in Alhambra CA The ideal candidate will perform cardiac procedures ensure patient safety and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality patient care.

What Youll Do

• Calculate measure order and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received used and disposed using computer and following physicians prescription.
• Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients bodies using a camera to produce photographic or computer images.
• Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide them with assistance during test procedures.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patients to detect or treat diseases using radioisotope equipment under direction of physician.
• Produce a computer-generated or film image for interpretation by a physician.
• Process PET/CT images in a timely matter for Radiologist to evaluate and referring physician to get report.
• Dispose of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals following radiation Safety procedures.
• Record and process results of procedures.
• Prepare stock radiopharmaceuticals adhering to safety standards that minimize radiation Exposure to workers and patients.
• Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment.
• Gather information on patients illnesses and medical history to guide the choice of diagnostic procedures for therapy.
• Measure glandular activity blood volume red cell survival and radioactivity of patient using scanners Geiger counters scintillometers and other laboratory equipment.
• Exercise radiation safety precautions and follow ALARA guidelines
• Position radiation fields radiation beams and patient to allow for most effective treatment of patients disease using computer.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current California Certified Technologist Nuclear Medicine (CTNM) certificate with the applicable scope of practice
• Current ARRT (N) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification as applicable
• ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) if performing the CT component of PET/CT under the CTNM pathway
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience performing PET/CT imaging preferred
• Knowledge of radiation safety practices ALARA principles radiopharmaceutical handling and applicable regulatory requirements
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and high-quality imaging
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• This is a onsite position located at 707 S Garfield Ave. B001 Alhambra CA 91801.
• Schedule: Per Diem
• The total compensation target pay range for this role is $60.00 - 90.00 per hour. The salary range represents our national target range for this role.
