Management Trainee PositionsEssential FunctionsProduce annual budget and achieve budgeted goalsOversee and follow goals presented in budgetsWork with the sales, inventory managers to identify orders on productMake sure all orders are being processed in timely sound mannerOversee nursery marketing in conjunction with the sales and the marketing department focusing on specific promotions to enhance sales, availability communication, customer appreciation, promotional materials and customer specific eventsAssist with purchasing wholesale materialsEstablish quantity needed to supplement inventory shortagesFollow budget to help determine these quantitiesKeep track of inventory and distinguish any discrepancies to the warehouse managerContinue to develop and improve pesticide program and educationIdentify newest chemicals and those that have been discontinuedOversee maintaining of chemical usage logOversee maintaining MSDSHire employees and conduct training, assist with payroll dutiesAssign work schedules and duties to employees, hire employees, and supervise their workPrepare employees schedules or work assignmentsEnter time off hours and approve hours for payrollMaintain safety awarenessSafety sensitive positionEnsure all policies, procedure, and rules are being followed and those that violate are appropriately disciplinedImplement safety trainingExplain and enforce safety regulations and policies to employeesCommunicate organizational policies and proceduresAccommodate employees with a job with light duty restrictionsProvide information to customer on the care of all goods and products sold and advice customer on procedural issues in addition to excellent customer service.Assist General Manager meetings as neededExperience / Skills:Ability to effectively coordinate and complete numerous activities simultaneously.Ability to identify problems and work in conjunction with others to implement effective solutions.Independent judgment to develop creative solution to spontaneous problems that may arise.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Must be able to work effectively under pressureForklift experience and certification requiredFull Time Position (10 hour days in most cases)The work requires walking and standing entire shiftMust be able to lift, pull, push and/or carry 50lbs.Work Environment is weather dependent.
