Job Opportunity Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Risk Engineer specializing in the Property Construction segment to support our rapidly growing Builder’s Risk business. The position reports directly to the VP Risk Control, Energy and Construction, North America, and all Risk Engineers at BHSI are fully integrated with the Underwriting Team(s). Ideally, candidates would be located near an existing North American BHSI office in New York, Atlanta, or Toronto. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To Support the Builder’s Risk underwriting teams globally. Conduct technical desktop construction project reviews to inform underwriting decisions and ensure profitable risk pricing. Attend occasional site visits to enhance risk knowledge. Support other lines of business as needed. Communicate effectively with risk engineers, the Underwriting team, the Valuation team, and the Claims team. Interact and communicate with customers professionally and respectfully when discussing findings, recommendations, or seeking clarification during site visits or meetings, while representing BHSI in the marketplace. Qualifications, Skills, And Experience 7+ years in field and account engineering related to property construction insurance. Extensive experience across a variety of project types and occupancies. High degree of experience with both EAR and CAR project types. Highly skilled in effective professional communication, both written and verbal. Strong knowledge of project safety practices. The base salary range for this position in New York is from $120K to $175K, along with annual bonus eligibility; a candidate’s salary is determined by their relevant skills and experience.
