Survey Crew Chief

Arora and Associates, PC is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our Land Surveying Department in Lawrenceville, NJ. Applicant must be a responsible, motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and work ethic to work in a team environment. DUTIES Plan, organize, direct andsupervise work of survey crew Locate, review, and research job locations for identifying landmarks, physical objects and significant land changes that would affect the survey Supervise the standard of work being performed and derive the necessary field calculations from work completed Supervise the maintenance of instruments, equipment and vehicles Ensure that angles, distances, and other collected information are accurate and conform to regulations and standards Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe work performed Coordinate with CADD technicians, other surveyors and department manager to assist with the final production of work performed MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 5 years of surveying experience Familiar with commonly used surveying terms and with the use and care of survey tools and other survey field equipment used for measuring, sighting, and leveling Proficient with the operation of survey equipment such as total stations, data collectors, levels, and various global positioning systems (GPS) Proficient with software for downloading survey data from the data collectors Proficient with the various methods of route surveying Familiar with NJDOT survey standards Hold a valid driver's license Physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions, carry survey equipment and use personal protective equipment such as eyewear, gloves and masks Able to work overtime as required Willing and able to travel for out-of-town assignments Position is available in our Lawrenceville, NJ location. COMPENSATION Compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
