Associate Analytical Chemist - 2nd shift!

Job Summary

The Associate Analytical Chemist performs routine and specialized laboratory testing on food and dietary supplement products to support nutritional analysis and quality standards. This role offers hands-on experience with wet chemistry, analytical instrumentation, and microbiological techniques in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment with strong opportunities for career growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical identification, quality testing, and analytical assays on a variety of products.
  • Conduct wet chemistry testing, including titrations, gravimetric analysis, sample preparation, and solution preparation.
  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as FTIR, UV-Vis, HPLC, GC, IC, and automated titration systems.
  • Perform microbiological assays, pipetting, and data interpretation as required.
  • Accurately document test results and maintain compliance with laboratory procedures.
  • Manage multiple assays and priorities while ensuring quality, accuracy, and turnaround times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet client deadlines and support laboratory operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field.
  • Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques and laboratory practices.
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation or willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous experience with HPLC, GC, UPLC, microbiology, or high-volume laboratory testing is a plus.

  • Laboratory environment focused on testing food and dietary supplements.
  • Fast-paced, production-driven setting with high sample volumes and client deadlines.
  • Exposure to a variety of analytical and microbiological techniques and instrumentation.

  • Requires adherence to laboratory safety procedures and the use of appropriate PPE.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
