About the Role:

Join our dedicated team at Women's Shelter and Support Center in Preston, MN, as a Housing Advocate. In this vital role, you will empower individuals and families experiencing housing instability within FIllmore County, providing them with the support and resources they need to secure safe and stable living environments.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to identify housing needs and create personalized action plans.
• Provide guidance on housing applications, tenant rights, and resources available.
• Facilitate workshops and support groups focused on housing stability and life skills.
• Collaborate with local agencies and organizations to enhance client services.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation.
• Advocate for clients in securing housing and navigating social services.
• Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting plans as necessary.
• Participate in community outreach to raise awareness of housing issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working in housing advocacy, social services, or a non-profit environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Knowledge of local housing resources and social service agencies.
• Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to helping vulnerable populations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management software.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
