Job Details Sales & Use Tax Accountant III / Houston, TX Posted: 9/18/2026 Job Description Assist in the process, documentation, and support of State Sales/Use Tax Audits and refund requests. Autonomously be responsible for sales/use taxes for company division(s), including performing reviews of transactions, reviewing State/Local tax returns, training, and answering taxability questions. Independently perform Sales/Use Tax research as needed, such as a change in operations, change in tax laws, entry into a new State, etc. Assist in Department tax accounting requirements as needed, including tax account reconciliations and tax adjusting journal entries. Assist in the building and maintaining of Use Tax rules by State for system requirements and building and maintaining tax tools by State for tax users. Job Requirements A Bachelor'sor Master's degree in accounting from an accredited institution, or A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a business or business-related field from an accredited institution, which includes accounting class hours (core classes such as Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, and other relevant coursework), coupled with relevant/complementary work experience commensurate with the accounting position 3 - 5 years multi-state Sales/Use Tax experience 1 - 2 years experience in the upstream and midstream Oil & Gas industry preferred Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Access CPA, CMI or MBA a plus Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
