Disaster Recovery Consultant — Healthcare IT

Riffle Resilience is seeking an experienced Disaster Recovery (DR) Consultant to support a healthcare application DR readiness initiative. The consultant will work with application owners, infrastructure teams, vendors, and Riffle project leadership to review existing DR documentation, identify gaps, and develop standardized application-level DR plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Review existing application DR plans for completeness, quality, and operational readiness.
\n
• Develop DR plans for applications where plans are missing or inadequate.
\n
• Document application recovery strategies, technical dependencies, recovery sequencing, roles, escalation paths, and vendor responsibilities.
\n
• Validate RTO/RPO assumptions with application and infrastructure SMEs.
\n
• Review evidence of DR testing and identify testing or documentation gaps.
\n
• Facilitate focused interviews with application owners, infrastructure teams, and third-party vendors.
\n
• Apply a standardized DR planning methodology consistently across a portfolio of healthcare applications.
\n
• Document findings and plans within the Riffle platform.
\n
• Support quality review and preparation of completed applications for client and compliance/legal review.
\n

Ideal Background

\n
• 5+ years of IT Disaster Recovery / Technology Resilience experience.
\n
• Experience developing application-level DR plans in large, complex environments.
\n
• Strong understanding of RTO, RPO, backups, infrastructure dependencies, recovery strategies, and DR testing .
\n
• Experience working with cloud, SaaS, vendor-hosted, and internally hosted applications.
\n
• Healthcare experience strongly preferred; familiarity with HIPAA Security Rule BCDR requirements is beneficial.
\n
• Able to independently facilitate technical conversations and challenge incomplete or unclear recovery assumptions.
\n
• Strong documentation skills and ability to work efficiently within standardized templates.
\n

Engagement Type: Contract to hire / Project-Based initially

• Initial Project: Approximately September–December 2026, with potential opportunity to support the larger 2027 application DR program.
