BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE Common diagnoses/Types of patients Low risk >36 weeks Experience or 'Must have' skills L&D Experience Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips Oxytocin & (occasional) magnesium sulfate Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Charge RN takes assignment Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? 1 OB tech each shift OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7? No Anesthesia in house 24/7? Only if running epidural RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) CPAP and vent for babies awaiting transfer if necessary. Vent is very uncommon, CPAP is common due to high elevation Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?
