Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Inpatient Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current speech-language pathologist license required Certifications: BLS, CCC-SLP, MBSImP, Vital Stim Must-Have: - Certifications in hand at the time of submission - Competence in bedside swallow evaluations, modified barium swallow studies, and assessment of cognition and speech/language Description: The position is for a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in inpatient rehabilitation. The role involves working with a diverse patient population, including adults and geriatrics. The daily census typically includes approximately 20 patients. Responsibilities include conducting and interpreting modified barium swallow studies. Duties also involve patient and family education regarding care plans and rehabilitation strategies. Experience in managing conditions such as CVA, TBI, dementia, dysphagia, and neurodegenerative diseases is essential. The schedule follows a 7 on/7 off day rotation with weekend coverage required. The ideal candidate should be skilled in various therapeutic procedures and patient assessments. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is a key component of the role. Compliance with protocols, such as the Frazier Free Water Protocol and Hyolaryngeal Exercises, is expected. Candidates must be prepared to complete core items and labs within a specified timeframe after contract signing.
