Dietitian

Provides specialized nutritional care and education to patients, ensuring proper diet modifications and understanding food and drug interactions. Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams to develop personalized nutrition plans and monitor patient progress.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients nutritional needs through interviews, laboratory data, and medical records.
• Educate patients on food and drug interactions, recording their understanding and providing diet instructions.
• Consult with physicians regarding appropriate diet modifications based on individual health requirements.
• Record all nutrition-related assessments, interventions, and patient education in the medical documentation.
• Modify patient menus as needed to meet specific dietary guidelines and preferences.
• Monitor patient responses and update nutrition plans accordingly to support recovery and well-being.

Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum of one (1) year of clinical nutrition or dietetics experience.
• Possess a degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition from an accredited institution; a master's degree is preferred.
• Be certified as a Dietitian-Nutritionist by the New York State Education Department or registered by the CDR; registration by CDR is preferred.
• Maintain current licensure or certification relevant to the state and facility requirements.
• Demonstrate strong patient assessment and communication skills.
